Summer in Sweden is special. People cherish every sunny day inbetween long cold seasons with different names, they eat strawberry cake, new potatoes with pickled herring (sometimes depending on the level of cheer in the party, at the same time), take long walks in senere nature and bathe in lakes and the sea. Some go long barbeques as it is hard to stop when at night sunset meets the sunrise on the same horizon. This is also that one time of the year that causes people drop the guard, sing silly songs and jump like ligite small frogs: that really unites all ages. In the most ateistic country of Europe, this is the celebration closest to our hednic roots worshiping vibrant power of life. All this goes during the day time and we would be happy to introduce you to these habits of ours.

So, all our dear Swedish and international friends, warm welcome! The event is in the format of a festival so apart from tango: workshops with 4 teachers/Djs, and milongas (over 20 hours of dancing from dusk till dawn!) there is plenty of time to get acquainted with local nature, traditions and people as in the day time we will organise socialising events. Location will have all we love and value most: good floor, good flow, good air, easy to reach. But what it will be, we haven’t decided yet 🙂

To register for the Midsummer Festivalito, by that providing us information important for organisation and your comfort, please follow the link https://forms.gle/KwsAqACihzjGSsN5A

The full cost of the program is 135 euro, that includes easy foods, socialising events and dancing. You can purchase the tickets HERE.

Lodging, housing…. There different options for staying over in the city. Many people go away for the weekend so probably a higher number than usual, of rooms to rent will be available. You are welcome to get in touch with us if you would be interested in coach surf with a local (tango or not) friend. Another option is to go camping! There is a nice camping just a couple of kilomenters from the city center, straight on the beach. It’s lovely. Bring a tent or let us know, we might have some to borrow. Don’t forget your swimsuit! Also probably mosquito cream….

PSss…Did you know that the Hamlet’s castle is just across the water, on the Danish side from Helsingborg. And that Helsingborg used to be in fact Danish… How they moved a whole train station 200 meters away because of construction works and what it wrong with the city’s signature sculpture. It is a small town but there is so much to tell! We’ll be so happy to share…
